Fort Benning: Military Housing Entryway + Living Room Tour
I swear I did not intend for half of the blog posts this week to be home decor themed... I had something else entirely planned for today and it just didn't work out the way I wanted it to. Hello, writer's block. Anyways, you guys have been dying to see how we've been furnishing the house and after another failed attempt at finding throw pillows yesterday, I decided to go ahead and share our entryway and living room with you guys!
I love the natural lighting in this entryway.
It’s one of the things that made me instantly fall in love with this house because there is so much natural light everywhere!
The entryway is currently acting as my office space so we have a small table in there that I love working at.
Something about the natural lighting just gives me all the creative vibes.
Another look at the desk area. I have a bit of a gallery wall happening but it’s currently blocked by our Fiddle Leaf Fig.
He’s hanging on and definitely looks a little better than when we brought him home from Home Depot.
After you come in through the front door we have a bit of a second entryway that has a closet. The spaces are separated by this glass pane door.
My husband’s military gear is the current occupant of the closet. I wanted to spruce this place up a bit so I took the second chair from my “desk” (which is actually a table) and placed it here. The basket is a gem we found at the local farmer’s market and I’m obsessed with it.
The living room is easily my favorite place in the entire house (which will probably be surpassed by the dining room once its done).
So far, I’m loving our Ikea couch and am impressed how well it’s holding up to two dogs and a kitten. We definitely need a second cover for it just to make cleaning easier.
Our blanket ladder lives on the wall behind the couch for now but I’m not sure that it will be it’s permanent home.
I wasn’t sure at first about this Amazon coffee table but now that we’ve had it for a few weeks, I can definitely say that I’m in love with it. So impressed with the quality considering it was under $100.
My other favorite thing about our house is the built ins. I know I’m going to miss them so much when we PCS. We used them as a way to display some of Justin’s things from West Point and of course, tons of pictures. They’re not entirely done yet but they’re getting there.
I’m pleased to say that we haven’t purchased anything for the built ins or the fireplace except for the little black clock.
