I'll be the first to admit that I haven't always treated my skin the best. In fact, I didn't even have a skin care routine until I turned 25 last year! A Letter to a West Point Significant Other

I have been seeing a lot of updates recently on the USMA Class of 2022 and their R-Day/BEAST experience and I started thinking about what was going through the minds of all of the loved ones they left behind. But specifically, the girlfriends and boyfriends that are about to embark on this journey with them. While Justin and I weren't together until halfway into his first year at West Point, the distance we've gained from West Point since graduation just a few short months ago has allowed me the chance to reflect on what it looks like to be dating someone who goes to West Point. I wanted to write this "letter" for lack of a better word to encourage those couples who are currently in a West Point relationship.

The Complete Guide to Attending Any West Point Class Event

Whew, Y'all. This post is going to be a real doozy. If you’re a West Point gal, I hope you’ve come prepared with your favorite beverage in hand because I decided to cover West Point military balls in today’s post. I personally hate calling them a West Point military ball but I’m trying to make this guide easy to find so there ya have it. We’re gonna jump right into how to prepare for a West Point Military Ball but first, I’m going to explain why I decided to write this ultimate guide to attending a West Point Military Ball before we get started with the good stuff. Hold on to your hats (or coffee?) this is gonna be a long ride!

When Justin and I first started dating, I had no idea that West Point class events were a thing. In fact, my first class event wasn’t even a ball, it was Camp Illumination, which marks the end of a Cadet’s first year at West Point, after a few weeks of summer training. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who struggled with not knowing what to wear or figuring out what happens at these things. Camp Illumination came and went and I made my way through it but I absolutely hated the feeling of not knowing ANYTHING at all about the event.

5 Tips for Engagment Photos + Our Engagement Pictures

Today’s post was highly requested from a couple of people and I apologize that I’m just now getting around to writing it. But today I’m going to be talking all about taking engagement photos! The engagement photo shoot is probably one of the most exciting parts of wedding planning leading up to your wedding. Justin and I loved ours so much that we actually did a second shoot!

Our photographer, Liza of Eliza Jane Photography is absolutely amazing and talented beyond words. Justin and I were so fortunate enough to be able to work with her twice AND book her for our wedding (she was the first thing we booked after we had a date). If you’re in the Hudson Valley/New York area I cannot recommend her enough. Not only is she an amazing photographer but she’s probably one of my absolutely most favorite people ever. So anyways, for today’s post I’m going to be sharing 5 tips for engagement photos that I learned from doing our two sessions and I’ll be sharing a few of our favorite engagement pictures!
