The 5 Minute Face

Wow guys, I can’t believe it’s been a month (EXACTLY) since this blog launched! Thank you so much to everyone who has shown so much love and support for me getting back into this blogging thing. I like experimenting with these Happy Hour posts and I’ve recently gotten a lot of really great new makeup products so I figured what better time to do a little makeup routine for you guys?

Today I’m going to be sharing with you all of the products I use every single day in my 5 Minute Face routine. If you didn’t already know, I commute to work basically 20-30 minutes and I like to get as much sleep as possible. Between sleeping in and taking care of the dogs in the morning, I don’t have a lot of time to get ready. I know my fellow go getters and college girls can relate.

Coming up with your own 5 minute face routine is essential to making your mornings effortless. I have a lot of redness and don’t really feel comfortable going makeup free, especially when I’m off to work (no one wants to look like they just rolled out of bed) so this routine really helps me out with a boost of confidence in the mornings. Let’s get into it!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation Review

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation

This foundation is my absolute favorite. It evens out my skin tone and is full coverage PLUS holds up to my oily skin. If I don’t want a full face of makeup, I’ll just simply use a little less product for a lighter coverage. It seriously took me forever to find a foundation that works and try as hard as I might, I can’t find a drugstore one that works for my skin right now so this has become my go-to.

Tarte Shape Tape Review

Tarte Shape Tape

If you haven’t jumped on this bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for? Tarte Shape Tape is seriously one of the best makeup products out there, in my opinion. Using a lighter color than your foundation not only conceals any blemishes you have (under eye circles, anyone?) but highlights your face in all the right places at the same time! Bonus, if you’re really in a pinch, you can skip foundation all together and just use the Tarte Shape Tape to do your typical highlight routine, blending out any excess over the rest of your face.

Tarte Smooth Operator Review

Tarte Smooth Operator Powder

The Tarte Smooth Operator powder is another recent purchase of mine. This translucent powder is perfect for baking when you’ve got more time but in a pinch I like to dust this over my foundation and concealer with a big fluffy powder brush. Applying this just after foundation and concealer really sets the foundation and make it lasts throughout the day, even against my oily skin.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Revew

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is probably my favorite drugstore product. First of all, it smells amazing. You should pick it up just for the sake of that. But the light shade gives me the perfect balance of bronze to my skin, especially in a pinch. Swipe it on your cheeks, around your neck, and the temples of your forehead for an easy bronzed look. What I also love about this bronzer is that the shade is perfect for a crease shade on your eyes! I don’t have time to do a full on eyeshadow look in the mornings but still want my eyes to be defined. Throwing a little bit of this in the crease really helps out and is super easy!

Maybelline Brow Precise Review

Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer

I don’t typically like to do a lot to my brows, mostly just brush them up and fill them in a bit but this new product from Maybelline is seriously the best y’all! One quick swipe of this and your brows are pretty much done. The best part? They stay all day! The first time I wore this was to HerConference and my eyebrows did not budge (in a good way, not in like the had-to-much-botox way).

It Cosmetics Superhero Review

IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara

I used to be a die hard Better than Sex kind of girl but recently found that it kept smudging on me ALL THE TIME. I can’t have that when I’m working 8 hours a day or heading to NYC for the weekend or going to a military event. So I knew it was time to change mascaras. The lovely lady at Ulta recommended the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara which actually includes biotin in the formula to help keep lashes growing. This mascara gives me the length I’m looking for without looking too dramatic.
