With Bachelor in Paradise in full swing, Alabama Hannah and her failed engagement are already old news (in the best way). A lot of us are so guilty of spending hours mindlessly watching the drama unfold on all of the Bachelor franchise series that it made me think about how we can use lessons from The Bachelor in our own lives. Today we're getting uncomfortable and talking about self-love. What would the Bachelorette look like if she chose herself for once?
Another year, another PCS season. In our short time with the military, we've managed to experience two of the most popular types of moves in just a year. When we did our DITY move to Georgia, I shared some lessons we learned so I figured I would do the same to talk about our experience getting moved by military movers to Alaska. Mostly so I could make a list to remember what to avoid next time LOL.
I went to the gym every day this week. I know, right? Who is she? Anyways, I like to use gym time to brainstorm topics to write about sometimes. There's nothing like zoning out on a treadmill to really get the ideas flowing. As I was wrapping up my workout with some weights, I remembered a really funny story. Well, it's funny if you aren't 5-year-old me.
It’s actually been a hot minute since I wrote one of these posts. Like, where did July go? We are finally settled and it’s such a good feeling, even if it was just in time for my husband to leave for a month. I’ve got lots of fun things to share with you guys for August. I’m getting the finishing touches to the nursery so that I can finally share that. I’m so excited for Jasper to have his own space. Well, two actually since we’re also making him a play area downstairs. I’m also starting to think about fall because it’s getting cooler here already. But I’m definitely not complaining. Give me all the fall vibes, please!
A few days ago, I shared on my Instagram stories that I had it placed on my heart to start writing more inspirational content on a weekly basis. I love writing a good favorites post and sharing what I’ve learned about military life with you guys but the truth is there is just SO MUCH that I want to write and share with the world, I just didn’t really know how to get it done. After I put it out to the universe (aka you guys) I saw that YOU all were just as excited about this series as I was. When a good insta friend mentioned that they were HERE FOR THIS and that there was a real hole in blogging and social media for this kind of thing, I knew I was on the right path.
Random Sh*t I Love is a collection of monthly favorites that will be posted the last Thursday of each month! I love sharing my monthly favorites with you guys which can include anything from items I’ve purchased, stuff we’re binge watching on Netflix, or major life events happening. This months favorites include a phonebook subscription, our favorite baby item ever, and Lululemon dupe leggings!
Check out our first Fort Wainwright Housing before and after! It’s been two months since we moved into our Fort Wainwright military housing and about a month since we received our household good shipment so I wanted to go ahead and share the first housing update with you guys! I’m so pleased with how the living room is already starting to come together with just a few simple changes. I can’t wait to continue to share the progress!
For our recent move to Alaska, I chose to challenge myself to only take one suitcase. I was so nervous about how I would feel about not having my entire wardrobe at my disposal for at least a month but looked at it as a fun way of learning what my style has really become over the last few years. I’m excited to share what I learned about fashion after living out of a suitcase for a month with you!
