Darrian's Favorite Things - Blogger Monthly Favorites - July
Can Y'all believe July is almost over? The summer has gone by so fast! I'm back with another round of blogger monthly favorites today for July! I know I missed June but ever since I started these back in April, I've really enjoyed doing them. June was just so crazy that I wasn't able to get around to doing it but hopefully July's favorites will more than make up for the lack of one last month! What things were you loving this month?
Darrian's Favorite Things - Blogger Monthly Favorites - July
Girl Wash Your Face - I had been seeing this book pop up everywhere so I knew I had to jump on the bandwagon and see what all of the fuss was about. I'll be honest, I thought I wasn't going to like it and that the book was going to be entirely overrated. I was wrong. Girl Wash Your Face is funny, down-to-earth, and so real. I can't even tell you how many times I have laughed and cried while listening to it (I got the audiobook which I highly recommend). I haven't finished it yet but I plan to really soon. I also plan to purchase an actual hard copy of the book so I can highlight and bookmark the crap out of it. It's that good.
Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner - I picked this stuff up on a whim while I was shopping at Target because it had lavender in it. I have somewhat sensitive skin and haven't been able to find a toner to add to my skincare routine yet that doesn't really mess up my skin. This Thayer's Witch Hazel toner is alcohol-free which means it's much easier on the skin. I've already seen an improvement in both my acne and my redness since adding it into my skincare routine. The best part is that it's only $10.
Creating a capsule wardrobe - I'll admit it, I have too many clothes. Getting ready for anything is exhausting because I hate half of the stuff in my wardrobe and I usually just end up wearing the same three things. So I decided to take action and change up my consumer habits by creating a capsule wardrobe. I'm starting small with purging my closet of things I don't wear, don't fit, or just don't love, and making a list of items I need/want in my wardrobe.
Thrifting at Goodwill - I am so hooked on thrift shopping after my latest trip to Goodwill. I think I'm going to have to make a list of all of the thrift stores in the area and start hitting them up regularly. Once I figure out what holes in my wardrobe need to be filled you know I'll be hitting up the thrift store. It's thrilling and I had so much fun searching for hidden gems in the racks. I mean, I only spent $20 which is what I usually spend on just one t-shirt. Why wouldn't you check out a thrift store before you go on a wild shopping spree?
Exploring Columbus, Georgia - Don't you just love exploring a new place? Justin and I have been in Georgia for just over a month now and I think it's safe to say that we're loving it. I've always hated staying in one place for too long so the fact that we're here for a short time and get a chance to explore everything we can is so special to me. I made a list of all of the places at Fort Benning that we're loving and plan to keep updating it as we find more places.
Parabo Press - Parabo Press is an amazing site that you can use to get pictures for your house. The square prints are always free (you best believe I'll be on Pinterest looking for ideas of what to do with those ASAP) and the quality of their engineer prints are amazing for the price. We got this one to put above our mantel and I can't wait to get 100 more of these done to fill up the white walls in our place. We have lead paint so we can't use more than finishing nails which means these prints with the wood rails are the perfect solution. I highly recommend using Parabo Press for all of your photo printing needs. You can even take $10 off of your order by using my code: IEMZWB (and get a code of your own too!).
