I didn’t have time to do pictures because #Alaska and #MomLife but here are my favorites for October
1. Ubersuggest
I found this resource towards the end of the month when I was writing that article on the baby products you actually need. I wanted to make sure it was keyword-heavy so that I could really help people. I've also been working on my blogs SEO and Ubersuggest was recommended as a great tool for blogging. If you're a blogger or have a website that you're trying to get out there, I definitely suggest giving this website a try. Ubersuggest has helped me tremendously when writing blog posts this month. I'm really hustling hard this last bit of 2019 so that I can set myself up for success in 2020 and this website has definitely been a key factor in helping me accomplish that!
2. A Digital World Fall In Love Mobile Lightroom Presets
Y'all have been loving my Instagram editing style lately and aside from the fact that I love the colors cream and brown, I can't really take any credit. I've been using the Fall in Love Mobile Lightroom Preset from A Digital World since September and I absolutely love it. I love the vibe it gives my photos without making them too orange. I think I'll probably keep this editing style or at least explore their other presets as we change seasons. It feels good to finally have a preset that makes my life easier while also staying true to the style and vibe I want for myself and my Instagram without having to spend a fortune. Etsy is a great place to find mobile presets if you're a blogger or Instagrammer and don't want to pay a premium price that some people charge for their presets.
3. SkipHop Diaper Bag
I'll be honest, I totally impulse bought this diaper bag. We have been exclusively been using the Fawn Design diaper bag since Jasper was born and while I love it, the Fawn Design bag definitely is a large, heavy bag that can be a bit unyielding. I was looking for something that resembled more of a tote style that I could easily clip to the stroller instead of having to shove it under the seat. Fawn Design makes diaper bag stroller straps but honestly, the bag feels so heavy I'd be afraid of it tipping up. Probably an irrational fear but anyways. I also love that this SkipHop diaper bag has a designated place for a changing pad (it came with one which I switched out for something nicer we already had) and a zippered side pocket for bottles. While I recommend the Fawn Design diaper bag I am happy that we now have two options. I'll be able to use the Fawn Design bag for overnight trips with Jasper while still having access to a diaper bag which is a great thing to have.
4. Young Living Essential Oils Starter Kit
Back in Mach, I talked about how I purchased two essential oils from Young Living. I was obsessed with them and even used them in my hospital bag and all through labor and delivery with Jasper. This month I finally treated myself and splurged on the starter kit which came with twelve oils and a diffuser. I've been using it nonstop since it came in the mail and have zero regrets. I've already been sick twice this fall so I've been diffusing Thieves regularly trying to keep us healthy. I'm thinking about starting an oil dedicated Instagram since I know it's not everyone's cup of tea so definitely let me know if that's something you'd be interested in.
5. Paul Mitchel Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
My biggest struggle postpartum has definitely been the constant battle with my hair. It was falling out in clumps for a while until I finally started getting it cut regularly (about the same time my hormones started to regulate) and it almost never felt clean. It didn't matter how many times I washed my hair, it still felt dirty. I had heard really good things about the Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, specifically the Lavender scent, for postpartum hair loss so I picked it up at my last hair appointment since it was on a deal. I've only been using it for about a week now but I really do like the way my hair feels after I use it. No more grime-y hair feeling and it smells delicious. I'm also able to go longer in between washes with is always a win for new moms.
6. Under the Saber Arches/Army Wives by Tania Biank
I picked this book up as a joke for the Household 6 book club because it is the book that the over-dramatic show, Army Wives is based on. But I have been pleasantly surprised by this book in more ways than one. First, the author is phenomenal. I had no idea she was a journalist who regularly covered military-related news at Fort Bragg. She's also an Army brat herself which means she wasn't some outsider trying to understand a way of life that she knew nothing about. The book is riveting and has already lead to a few discussions in the book club Facebook group. I can't wait to read more of it!
