How to Support your Favorite Bloggers + Reader Survey!

First off, I wanted to sincerely thank each and every one of you that continues to support my blog. That's why I'm choosing to do a reader survey around the 6 month mark (that's now!) so that I can make sure I am putting out the type of content you all want to read! Now I would say that I'm a pretty avid blogger but I know that not all people are. That's why I think it's so important to talk about the ways in which you can actually help support your favorite bloggers!

Blogging is HARD, y'all. It doesn't get talked about enough and after a conversation with a fellow blogger this week, I realized that sometimes people really just don't realize all the ins and outs of blogging. It takes countless hours and energy and most of the time, bloggers aren't getting paid squat. Hard to believe, I know. But that's the truth.

We do this because we love it. We love connecting with people and helping others through our own experiences. Sure, we want to be paid for it but at the end of the day it's all about the community. The messages I get each week make it so worth it and constantly remind me why I decided to do this in the first place. That's why I'm giving back with a little giveaway!

To be entered into the giveaway, all you have to do is fill out the reader survey and include your email! If you wish to remain anonymous, don't worry, the email isn't required. However if you choose to take the survey anonymously you WILL NOT be entered into the giveaway. (US & Canada only).

Follow their social media accounts

If you have a blog or blogger that you love, why wouldn’t you follow them on social media? This concept seriously baffles me. When I find a blog I love, the first thing I do is follow ALL of their social media accounts. Not only is this a great way to support your favorite bloggers but it’s also a great way to connect with them on a more personal level. There is stuff that happens over on my Instagram that I almost never mention here on the blog. I also LOVE checking out other people’s Instagram accounts and getting to know them better. Personally, I also love doing different content for each platform. On Facebook, for example, I post a wide variety of things. On Instagram stories and even Twitter, I love doing polls! Whether or not I’m one of your favorite bloggers (which, I totally should be *wink, wink*), you should definitely be showing your support to them by following their social channels. I’ll leave mine below!

Engage with their content

I cannot stress enough how important engagement is for bloggers. For starters, it makes us realize that there are REAL people reading what we right which makes it so much more personal when we’re writing blog post after blog post. So comment, comment, comment on each blog post! Seriously, you could just say Hi! And that would be amazing. Commenting on Instagram is also really important because of the way Instagram’s algorithms work which is a topic for an entirely different post. SO the bottom line here is, when you read a post on your favorite blogs, leave a comment while you’re there! And, if there is something wrong with the commenting process (like it’s too difficult, etc.) shoot an email, tweet, or DM to that blogger. They will be SO happy to hear feedback in this regard.

Share them with your friends

If you have a blog you adore, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE. I want to scream this from the mountain tops. Share it on Pinterest. Share it on Facebook. Share it on Twitter. If you’re in a Facebook group, share them there. Share them in a group chat with your friends. The possibilities are endless! Sharing your favorite blogs really helps spread the word about their blog and help it grow! Plus, this is a great way to let your favorite bloggers know what types of content you’re interested because they’ll actually see what you’re sharing!

Participate in surveys and polls

As I mentioned, sometimes as a blogger it can feel like you’re talking into a void. That’s why I love doing polls on my Instagram stories! I have been doing this A TON lately because I seriously love getting input on content from you all. That’s a huge reason why I’m doing this reader survey and giveaway! When you participate in stuff like this it makes me feel like we’re creating this amazing community which is exactly what I want! So make sure you participate when you see anything like an Instagram poll or reader survey because I genuinely WANT your input!

Send them an email or message

There is nothing I appreciate more than someone who takes the time out of their busy day to send me an email or DM on Instagram. I have gotten SO many sweet DM’s this week that it just has been the best week. If you didn’t know, most bloggers keep a folder with sweet comments/emails/messages in them because blogging is hard, y’all. Sometimes there are days where you know you need to put work in but you just don’t want to. Or maybe you got a nasty comment. But having these messages from you guys reminds me EXACTLY why I do what I do.

Talk about their blogs IRL

If there's one thing I learned in graduate school while getting my marketing degree, it's that you can never underestimate the power of Word of Mouth or WoM. Tell your coworkers, tell your mom, tell the girl helping you pick out clothes in your local clothing boutique. Just tell everyone!

Keep coming back

The biggest thing you can do when you find a blogger you really love is to keep coming back to their blog. Blogs are built on community and relationships and I know personally, for me, that building relationships with each and every person who takes the time out of their day to stop by my little corner of the internet is worth talking to.
