28 Week Pregnancy Update

Holy crap you guys, I can’t believe I just wrote that title. How in the heck are we at the third trimester already? Don’t bother asking me where the last 7 months have gone because I honestly couldn’t tell you. All I can say is that I have thoroughly enjoyed pregnancy so far and I can’t wait to meet our baby! If you haven’t been following me on social media (@darrianmchamb) or keeping up with us on our YouTube channel, then it’s really going to seem like a hot sec since I did any sort of pregnancy update. I did a few pregnancy updates on YouTube so you can find those by clicking the link below:

Aside from that, this pregnancy has been a breeze. I have been truly lucky that I haven’t experienced any of the negative side effects of pregnancy that most women complain about. I’m not trying to brag or anything so please don’t take that the wrong way! I am honestly already worried about getting pregnant again because I’m convinced it will be the opposite of how pregnancy has been for me this time around. BUT I am putting it out into the universe that this easy pregnancy will translate into a positive labor and delivery experience for both baby and me. I’m not usually one for manifesting but I figured it might be worth a shot.

Speaking of labor and deliver, I’m actually not nervous at all which is definitely not something I thought I would be saying. TBD on whether or not that changes in the next three months but for now, I’m just really excited to finally get to hold our little babe in my arms. Anyways, since I already wrote this post once (and had it accidentally deleted) I’m not going to press my luck any further, let’s get on into the pregnancy update!

28 Week Pregnancy Update

28 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along: 28 weeks and 3 days!!!

Size: As big as an eggplant (whoa!)

Name Situation: ICYMI: back in December we did a name reveal on our YouTube channel! We’re so in love with little boy’s name!

Gender: Obviously, we also revealed the gender over on YouTube since my last pregnancy update over here. I’m so excited to be a boy mom!

Sickness: Still none. I’ve been #blessed. Although I think I’m coming down with a cold now but I’ll take that over morning sickness any day.

Cravings: Chocolate and ice cream? My cravings have pretty much subsided at this point, now I’m mostly just hungry all the time. Still hooked on Everything Bagels though.

Aversions: Thank goodness my aversions have gone away for the most part. Pizza is still iffy.

What I'm Wearing: It’s finally cooled down so I’m wearing mostly maternity clothes purchased in the last few months, some of these really soft graphic t-shirts from Target, and I’m literally living in my Zella Maternity leggings. I’m not kidding, I cried when they finally came back in stock.

Belly button: My belly button still exists! It’s just super tiny. TBD whether it becomes an outie or not.

Movement: Baby boy moves ALL the time. It is my favorite thing in the world right now, I could literally stare at my belly moving all day!

Sleep: My sleep is getting worse and worse by the day. Pregnancy insomnia, unable to get comfortable, peeing 3 times a night, dry and stuffy nose (even with a humidifier!) the list goes on.

Weight gain: I swear the scale at the doctor’s office was wrong but I’ve only gained 10 pounds my entire pregnancy so far as of my last appointment! Baby is growing right on track though so no worries there.

Physical Changes: I definitely have a bump as you can see but like I said, all baby. Other than my face feeling and looking a little puffier lately and some swelling when I don’t drink enough water, that list is pretty short.

Workouts: I’ve been loving taking the dogs on walks lately! That’s pretty much the extent of my workouts but I’ll take what I can get at this point.

What we're most excited about: Baby’s arrival! We took a tour of the labor and delivery area at the hospital here on post this week and it just made us both giddy and excited. I can’t wait to hold him in my arms for the first time! Also, getting the car seat, which should be coming the day I’m posting this.

What we're least excited about: We still have zero idea whether or not Justin will actually be here when he’s born or not. That’s my main concern at this point. Oh, and potentially moving like a month after he’s born.

And that pretty much wraps up this 28 week pregnancy update! I seriously can’t believe there will only be ONE more of these things to write for you guys. If you have any other suggestions for pregnancy related blog posts that you want to see, definitely let me know! Other than that, he’ll be here before we all know it!

Until next time, Y’all
