5 Things to Do at Epcot as an Adult
The first time I ever wen to Walt Disney World, I was under 5 years old. I was so freaked out by all of the characters that I wouldn't go to any of them, not even Mickey! Finally Snow White somehow coaxed me over to her and actually held me. My parents were shocked! I've been to Disney World three times in total before this week.
This week I made an impromptu trip to Orlando, Florida to visit my mom who was there for a conference. We had a bit of free time on Wednesday and decided to hit up a Disney park while we were there. Since we hadn't been to Disney World together since I was little we chose to do Epcot! Epcot is a great park to explore if you're short on time but want to experience some part of Disney World because it's easily doable in half of a day!
I am 100% convinced that Disney World is way more fun as an adult than as a kid. This was the second time I've been to Disney as an adult and I thoroughly enjoy it every time! So I wanted to share 5 things to do at Epcot as an adult in case you're planning a trip to Disney World anytime soon!
Wear ears, dress up, and take lots of pictures
I don't care how old you are, when you're at Disney, there is no such thing as being too old to dress up or sport some Minnie Mouse ears. Since I didn't know we were going to the parks, I didn't pack anything to really wear and I didn't have Disney ears so we swung by a shop the night before to stock up on essentials for our half day trip into the park.Â
Eat at Chefs de France
I don't remember anything about the restaurants from going to Disney as a kid but as an adult, you definitely have a better appreciation for good food. We stopped by Chefs de France on our way through France in the World Showcase part of Epcot for a late lunch and boy was it good! I'm still daydreaming about that bacon and onion flatbread.Â
Drink beer in Germany (and everywhere, honestly)
Probably the best part of visiting Epcot as an adult is the ability to drink around the world. We didn't do much drinking this time because it was just too dang hot but my mom did get a delicious beer in Germany. I mean, if you're going to buy overpriced beer at a theme park showcasing countries of the world, you might as well get it from Germany, right? Also, pick up an Apple strudel while you're there.
Ride the little kid rides
My mom and I only rode the little kid rides when we were at Epcot this week. Think The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Gran Fiesta Tour. We tried to get on Frozen Ever After too but the line was ridiculously long and stagnant. The worst part about planning an impromptu trip to Disney is not being able to get very many FastPasses for the rides. But we had so much fun on the rides we did ride!
Meet the Characters
As I mentioned earlier, I was not about the characters as a kid. But as an adult, I love interacting with them! I was so excited to see that Baymax was in the Epcot Character Spot that I knew I couldn't pass up a chance to meet him! I definitely wish I would have taken the time to meet some other characters too.
